I'm contemplating the trim back up to classic that I know I need, and I'd rather go there since I know they're friendly toward long hair and will cut as little as possible.

Thought I'd introduce myself with a ficlet I wrote the other night~ It's sort of smutty and NSFW though, so I hope it's okay? x'D If not, feel free to delete this post ^^;;
Title: Surrealism Pairing: ItsuKyon/KyonItsuki Rating: NC-17 Warnings: Yaoi, masturbation, mentions of anal Disclaimer: I own nothing. Make no money and have no right to abuse these poor chars. Summary: Even though Kyon's dead tired from Haruhi's attempt to make this summer the best ever, his phone won't stop ringing, even at night..

Here are a couple of pics of my hair. The quality isn't that good because I had to take the pics in the mirror:
Anyway, my hair is REALLY oily at the scalp, and the ends are really really dry. I have tried leave in conditioners, but they don't seem to moisturize that well. I think someone here mentioned that they use olive oil on their ends. So my questions are:
1) What do you use to condition your ends?
2) If you use oil, what type? Olive, jojoba, or something else?
3) When you put the oil on your ends, do you leave it there and not rinse it out? Or do you leave it on for a while, and then shampoo it?
4) I heard hair masks are VERY bad for the hair. Is this true?
Thank you! |

Dear KHFanfic writers, It seems you need a little reminder. Organization XIII are NOBODIES. This means that they have no hearts. They have no emotions. Smutt is allowed, but love is a nada. Hearts do not exist as anything other than a goal. No one in the Organization will eveer say, "I <3 you!" It simply will not happen. Thank you for your time.

| New Challenge Anyone? |

The last challenge was a success and I had lots of fun. Some people are waiting for a new challenge so I'm going to give some of my ideas.
I've just noticed but this is my 4th consecutive post XD;; i need to get a life lol
Idea 1: Time Reversal It has something to do with my DA deviation here So, one way or another Zel or Amelia get blasted into the past and end up meeting Kid Amelia or Kid Zel (respectively) The challenge would probably be to write a fanfic or draw out a fanart of their encounter.
I assume fanfic writers will have a blast writing a crazy plot and fanartist will have fun drawing kid-Zel or kid-Amelia.
I have a fanfic in progress for this, but it will be rather long so most likely I won't join this one.
Idea 2: Dating Guru Ok, it's not what you think bec. i didn't watch any Guru-related movies ever. So imagine this, you're in slayers AU (alternate universe) and you happen to go to the same school with rest of characters. You're good friends with most of the characters and Zel happens to be your classmate (don't go squee yet) One day he secretly asks you for advice in dating bec. he wants to ask Amelia out! (hahahah i suck) You know he had a crush on her but he didn't want to admit it until now. You decided to help him bec. you're such a good friend and saner than the rest of the slayers cast. (don't kill me lina!) On the same day, Amelia comes to you about dating advice as well bec. she got asked out by Zel! So, What will you do? 8D
I think this would make for a nice discussion for the community but i think it's possible to make it a challenge as well. You could write a fanfic about it (most probably you'll have to include yourself as an OC) or draw a fanart on how you'd hook them up together. XD
Feel free to share your ideas too! |

| Ice Age 3! Plus, suspending reality... |

I finally got to see Ice Age 3 yesterday, and I have to applaud Blue Sky Studios. They may not be Pixar or Disney, but they understand what the others do: it's the characters that make the story. I'd already gotten attached to the main trio in the first movie (Manny the mammoth, Diego the Sabertooth tiger, and Sid the sloth). It took a bit of warming up to the new additions in the second movie (Crash and Eddie, the two possums and their sister, Ellie the female mammoth), but by the end I liked them too. I'll admit that when I heard the premise of the third movie it sounded pretty dumb to me. Dinosaurs? What? But, I enjoyed the first two movies enough that I wanted to see it anyway.
I am so glad I did! We have all the main characters from the first two movies, plus an interesting development. The whole theme of parenthood struck a chord with me since I too want to be a mother one of these days... Also, the addition of dinosaurs wasn't as bad as I feared. In fact, it made things fun when the main characters realized they weren't the largest animals alive. I don't want to spoil anything, but if you liked the first two movies, you'll enjoy this one as well.
Also, support merc16! I saw your name in the credits! The animation and lighting were spectacular!
Now onto suspending reality... I was reading reviews last night, and apparently Ice Age 3 got pretty dour reviews since people can't get past Ice Age mammals existing at the same time as (what should be extinct) dinosaurs. The explanation for why there are dinosaurs is never explained much in the movie, but it shouldn't have to be! I think people tend to forget that the very point of animation is to tell stories that cannot be told (well) in live-action. Have people forgotten that pandas don't learn Kung Fu moves? That houses can't really fly with balloons attached to them? That people cannot be turned into frogs! Lets not forget that mice don't walk around on two legs talking like the rest of us...
In short, it's stupid to discount a movie for not being factual when the very medium it's made in isn't factual. Honestly, the Ice Age movies never set out to be a specific time in our history. Plus, what are the odds that a predator (Diego) would form a herd with mammoths, or that even a sloth would tag along? What people embraced for one reason doesn't seem to hold true for another. Animation is fantastic, fantastic as in fanciful, fantasy, separate from reality. It's for this very reason those like Walt Disney ever dabbled in the medium in the first place.
If I ever see an animated feature that's based entirely on reality and has no fantastic elements at all, I might as well be watching a live-action film... |

As LoudTwitter seems to have gone bye-bye...
So, what's been happening lately? Not much of anything but at the same time loads. I've been constantly busy with some freelancing (something which in the last week or so, I've put a stop to 'cept for things I do for a friend. Great money, but I need some downtime, dammit!) and keeping my eyes out for things that can advance my career. Slow summer unfortunately on that front, but there are a couple of places out there enthused about me, and a senior position isn't out of the question. Just have to see how things go.
Other than work...not that much of note, which, along with being busy, is why I haven't thrown up many posts lately.
The boyfriend has a new job, which is just plain amazing, in terms of money and the stuff he gets to work on (he's constantly on calls to London, Australia, etc).
The kitties are great, Merlin going from a cat that only liked cat food to fighting us for EVERYTHING, thanks to having her teeth done (I've probably mentioned that before). And she's getting more playful despite just turning eight-years-old. She beats up Toby, who is three times her size! (I think he is intimidated by her as she's so much older, and because he seems to love her and Mog so damn much!)
Little Mr. Toby is getting more cuddly as he gets older. In two weeks time we'll have had him for a whole year! Unfortunately he has a big mat on his back which is taking some work to brush out. He's never had many bits of matted fur thanks to being brushed a few times a week (maybe the occasional one under his armpits that is small and easily cut off), but this one? One day he was fine, next day he got sweaty from the heat and humidity and up popped horrid mat. Fingers crossed a bit of daily brushing gets the damn thing out. Don't want to have to get his back shaved! He is getting so big now that I groan when picking him up. Must be over 6kgs at least, and all muscle. Must post more pictures of the rascals soon.
On the anime front, Eden of the East was so good (see icon)! But lord knows when I'll get a chance to see the movies. Released in Japan in November and January, I think, but I don't exactly want to watch cinema rips, if we get them. I'll probably wait for the DVD releases.
Just started on Aoi Hana, which looks really promising (some crew from Honey & Clover, always a positive for me); FMA Brotherhood seems to be getting to material not in the original (or at least done differently); Haruhi Season 2 is very much "New episode, plz? Get what you're doing, but still..." And I got the first volume of Gurren Lagann. Amazon, while it was on pre-order, had the limited edition for £25 (the RRP is £55!), so snagged that one. Really enjoying it so far, but have just got around to watching the first three episodes.
As for manga, one more volume and I'll have 450 manga! Need a new bookcase soon...
Need to finish off the styling on my LJ. I got part of the way and then had so much normal work and then freelancing in the evenings that I didn't want to touch Photoshop of Dreamweaver when I actually had time off. Must get back to it soon.
So, that's it for me for now. Better get back to work as lunch is over. |

I used to have hair that reached my waist. I made of the mistake of having an inexperienced hair colorist bleaching it then dying it red. After that, I had to hack off 8 inches.
I've been slowly growing it back and weaving my natural hair color back in. However, how bad is it that my hairdresser razored the front layers and back of my hair to thin it out? |

Satin Rollers: So I've been researching ways to style my hair without heat or damage and I came across satin hair rollers that you put in at night :O All you do is put your hair in the rollers, the size of the roller determines how tight or loose you want the curl....then you sleep with them ON a satin pillow case!
I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes.....of course this is something I'm experimenting for us tight wave/curly haired girls. In a few articles it says that it is a way to "set" your hair and since you are using satin to define... there is little to no frizz. (well unless you move around like CRAZY in the night). So basically by putting our hair in the rollers we are munipulating the way in which our hair curls :D it sounds super exciting.
If anyone has had ANY experience with satin rollers and has tight wavy/curly hair please do share your experience!
Weather: Why is it that on hot, dry and even windy days make my hair a LIVING hell? It seems like my hair is always so pretty when it's moist and cool...does anyone know exactly WHY my hair does this? I'm hoping to move to Tokyo in the future (if I can convince my fiance) and I'm hoping the weather will be something that won't screw up my hair like hot Nevada.....D: eek even when I visit San Diego in the summer my hair goes nuts
Hair Bun: Is it damaging to put your hair in a loose bun with something like this (AKA loose cloth head band):

Hi guys, I'm back with some more annoying questions! :D
This'll be a real quick one though.
Does anyone know where I could find a list of all the divisions symbols with corresponding pictures? (i.e. the flowers on their badges)
I think it may have shown it at one point in the manga, but I can't seem to find it anywhere =\ |

[Up front: sorry about the lack of pics, as I'm at work (shh!) and can't get any uploaded right now. Maybe I'll add some later tonight if it still looks in any way acceptable.]
Particularly for the folk with extremely fine, thin, straight hair: how do you keep the frizz down and curls intact when you go curly? I have the type of hair that just plain does not have the mass to hold any kind of curl without a lot of help, and only holds a curl as half-heartedly as possible even WITH a lot of help (and "help" very much includes no touching whatsoever, because touching only leads directly to jail without passing go or collecting $200). Behold the timeline on this go-around, which constitutes part eleventy freaking billion in our ongoing series entitled "Carolyn vs. curly hair: totally unwinnable battles she will not leave alone for some stupid reason":
( More whining behind the cut, for easy skipping )
Anyone out there with a similar hair type have some miraculous product/voodoo spell/illegal surgical scalp transplant procedure that has worked for them? Tips are much appreciated. =) |
