Slayers Revolution Episode 1
I just finished downloading and watching the first subbed version of Slayers REVOLUTION episode 1

Well, as far as the fansub quality goes, I would much rather get my hands on an .avi version for archiving, because the font I have to read on VLC player sucks bunches. I want a purdy karaoke, dammit!

The opening theme...oh god, I can't stand it. I'll have to make myself listen to it over and over with the episode to like it. It sounds like a hideous throw-back to some of the early season OPs of Detective Conan. Brrr.

As for the content, I had a good fan-gasm over the familiar music and voices. I wish Gourry had come across a bit better though, rather being the dumb guy with a sword that keeps breaking. So from a Gourry-centric PoV, it was a little disappointing. From an over-all fan PoV, however, it was great! A voyage into the known, where the plot, while basically outlined if it vaguely follows the rest of the books, is unknown! Especially where that stupid-looking pokemon thing is concerned - I'm with Lina on this one. And I still say 'kill it with fire!!' *shudder*

The animation looked pretty good - though it lacks a little soul, it makes up for it with the vibrancy of the colours. I liked the ED theme and sequence a lot and I'll be looking for the mp3 when I can find it. All-in-all, I'm a very happy fan, though I hope that creature doesn't turn into another bloody Filia *sigh*
