And the song goes on
Wow, what is this? A super-rare home update!

After recieving Aniki's reply to one of my recent posts regarding the Utawarerumono games, I went looking myself when I got home and finally found a batch torrent with the PC game, a program to translate all the text to English, a patch with all the voice acting from the PS2 version and a selection of other goodies.

It hadn't finished downloading by the morning, though I hadn't really expected it to have. Saturday was a day for stuff outside anyway. Tim came on MSN and asked if I wanted to to do something that day - knowing what Paul had asked me on Thursday, I immediately refused. The beach and the railway were other options, but I had to go outside while Tim was waiting for Paul to drag himself out of bed - he generally isn't up until after midday at a weekend. I left a message telling them to phone me if they needed to talk to me because I would not be at my computer, then got myself dressed in my scruffy outdoor trousers and teeshirt.

First, Mum had me taking the flower tubs down from the balcony and putting them outside by the coal bunker, then I went down the drive with the yellow bendy bucket and started pulling up the weeds from the gravel and all the dead daffodills and weeds from the flower tubs so it wouldn't look so awful there. As I was working on the left side, Mum and Nana came down the drive in the car, bound for Comet in Aberdeen to take back the phones Mum bought last Saturday - one of them was not working. I continued to clear the weeds on the other side and the parts of the upper tubs that I could reach before heading back up to the house. I heard the phone ringing as I got closer, and dumped the bendy bucket in the garage before going in and calling 1471 to find out who had called, then phoning that number...only to get the answering service. Feh, fine.

By then it was about 1:15pm and I was about to make myself a sandwich for lunch when the phone rang again - it was Tim asking if I wanted to go for a walk along the railway - the disused part starts right in Dyce near the guy's flat. I rushed myself a sarnie, put together a bag of stuff (bottle of juice, purse, keys, sunblock, sunglasses) and left the house by about 1:50pm.

We spent the entire walk, about 10km there and back, talking about Warcraft, which was more fun than it sounds. I kept up very well, but I think the guys were going slowly for me. My poor feet were pretty sore by the time we got back to the flat, probably because the trainers I was wearing weren't a very good fit for my feet and definately not meant for walking. The net result is a blister T_T Hope it doesn't last long! I had a go on the new Mario Kart game while I was there. It was really weird using the control pad like a steering wheel and made it rather hard, especially playing on a 4-way split screen -_-

I got home by 6pm, and we had southern-fried chicken and garlic bread for tea and watched Stardust (with the usual phone interruptions *sigh*) in the lounge.

I was outside again today, but not for quite as long as yesterday. Today it was time to sweep and scrub the balcony patio to get it ready for another year of hardly being used. Really, it's a crying shame - that patio is roasting if the sun is out in summer. I think the white harling walls reflect the sunlight or something to make it hotter out there. That was damn hard work, as usual, especially the scrubbing, but at least it wasn't windy while I was sweeping. The sun was out and bright, so I went in to put some sunblock on and get the blu-blocker sunglasses from the car. By the time I got back to the patio, the sun was behind clouds *sigh*

Mum was out for most of the afternoon, shuttling the flowers and plants she and Aileen picked up to the people in the village with council flower tubs - glad I wasn't doing it!
We had indian meals for tea with naan bread - mmmm, peshwari for me!

More time has been spent installing the Utawarerumono game, which finished downloading in the early hours of the morning. I've gone through the training section, but I think I'll wait until I've read some instructions about the game on GameFAQs tomorrow or something, since the only game like this I've played before was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and I don't know how good I was at that. I didn't tend to die very often, but I haven't finished it yet either, so hmmmm. I think I'll watch a few episodes on Dead Like Me instead, now I've washed my hair. Tim lent me the box set of season 1 - I watched the first 7 episodes or so that he put on my iPod for me, but that was ages ago.
