Current mood: calm

I got another bracelet completed during lunch time. Mostly. I had to finish tying the threads off after I got back to the reception, but it wasn't like it was especially busy here anyway.

While I was having my lunch there was a power-glitch, which sent the computer servers here into a spastic fit. I came back to find that the main reception computer was logged off and Richard could get on. of coruse, closer inspection rpoved that he was just too dim to click on the 'OK' button of the dialogue box that was on the screen. Everyone else in this building managed to log back on OK eventually, but across the road they were having more difficulty, so a guy from Mother had to come out to see to it. Around 4pm he had to get us all to log off so he could tinker with the server, and only got it back up at about 4:50pm, when everyone was leaving anyway.

So time to go home. Err, w00t!

Tinkering with setting has slightly improved matters with the graphics in WoW, so I even had at attempt on the new instance, the Magisters' Terrace, but few in the group had done it before, so the tank buggered off after a wipe at the second boss, who was a sort of cross between the anorexic void-walker from the Arcatraz and Curator in Karazhan.

Saturday was pretty busy. I had get some scruffs on to go wash the cars before making some lunch to take with me to the guys' flat for a holiday planning session.

Most of the stuff could have been done at home though, whilst talking on MSN or Teamspeak. But I was set up in the lpunge with Paul's laptop, connected via wireless, so I could do a bit of searching for info on stuff like visas and passports, innoculations baggage limitations and customs procedures and stuff like that.

It was time to go at 6pm because Paul was going off to see his parents, so I gave Mum a ring and asked her to give me a call back with her shopping list. I then paid ASDA a visit, and had to dash through the pouring raid with a Marks & Spencer reusable bag over my head to fend off the wet.

I returned home bearing gifts of crispy suck and egg-fried rice for tea, or chicken and bacon pie. Since the pie required more effort, Mum went for the chinese option.

I got back to my computer and had some fun with the new dailies, and then a guild run into the Magisters' Terrance, this time with success. Nothing good dropped though, and our tank wanted to go for a second run with her hunter so in we went again with a druid tank and a shammy healer...which turned out to be a bad idea by the time we got to Kael again. Apparently shammy healers aren't too good for that boss, so we ended up having to draft in an uber pally healer from the Late Show group and finally made it. Gawd, that encounter is a pain - it must be hellacious in the heroic version and full raid version doesn't bear thinking about!

By then it was some awful time of the morning, but only because the clocks had gone forward while we were in there. It really threw me - I looked at the time and wondered how the hell we'd been in there that long!

So I ended up waking pretty late on Sunday morning, but mostly because I went back to sleep after waking up at about 9:15 (8:15 bodyclock time). I had to drag some clothes on after I got up to go next door to sort out their mail, since they were coming back that afternoon. Then I had a shower and lunch before leaving for the guys' flat again for more holiday planning.

Yet again, it could have been done fromh ome, but I was also bringing my PC along for Paul to have a look at. The route-planning took a couple of hours, then another hour or so for Paul to verify that my new graphics card is, indeed, crap, and I'll be sending it back this week and getting a decent one. Paul is going to do a little searching at work today and send me a recommendation or two. Then we had a walk out to a cash machine so we'd have money for a chinese take-away to be delivered, and in the meantime we did a bit of Japanese, then put a movie on while eating the take-away.

A reasonably productive afternoon and evening though. It was 9:15pm when I left, and 9:45pm when I got home. At least it wasn't tipping rain this time though.

I checked the returns procedure on Dabs as soon as I got my computer hooked back up and online, and I've arranged for the card to be picked up on Thursday this week.

Aaaand, this morning. Had a bit of a rush around to clear some glasses out of my room before I left. The car was all frosted up, so I had to spend a while sat in the driveway waiting for the windscreen to clear, but I managed to get to the Park & Ride in time anyway.

So far Richard has not turned up. I thought he was going to be in today, but maybe it was today when harry was supposed to be taking him to a sorting office to see if that would suit him.

The draw for the raffle was done at 10am today. No car (or anything else) for me T_T The deputy Lord provost came to do the draw, and I had to check for his name, because good grief, he must had got the post just out of school O_o Lee came in later asking if that was the dlp because he looked about 12! As exaggeration, but not much because he's 18-19, apparently.

I'm sort of between beading things at the moment. I was to make something for my hair, but I need some size 8 beads to match, so I either need to order some or pay John lewis or Bead Crazy a visit some time this week.

I'm going to have to get my passport application filled in tonight so Mum can take it to Margaret's for Norman to sign the back of the photos and whatever parts of the form are necessary. Mum ha a prety full week...ish. The chiropodist today, taking my car into Aberdeen for its service tomorrow, Margaret's on Wednesday...I think she's going down to Nana's on Friday or Saturday.

I'm going to be ripping the Graphics Card of Suck and Fail out of my system on Wednesday night to shove it in its box to be shipped off. Hoepfully Paul will have a recommendation for me by about midday and I'll jump on Dabs and get it ordered thus afternoon, so, with a bit of luck, I'll have a new and decent card by Wednesday or Thursday =D
